Hello! We hope you have had a nice weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead.
Year 2 have been practicing their Nativity and we are very impressed with how it’s coming along. We are in need of some angel/fairy wings – if you have any at home that you are willing to lend, please bring them in.
Thank you for continuing to read at home with your children – it really does make all the difference. If you are finding it a challenge to motivate your child to read you could try reading to them instead, listening to an audio book or have a look at a graphic novel or wordless picture book and enjoy a nice discussion about what they can see. These can also be written in their planners and absolutely counts as reading experiences.
This week year 2 will be:
Starting ‘Dread Cat’ in literacy and looking at the descriptive language used in the story.
Working on crossing the ten when subtracting and comparing addition and subtraction number sentences in maths.
Learning more about the different continents in geography.
Developing football skills in PE and looking at grief and loss in PSHE.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
The Year 2 Team
