Week beginning 18th September

Hello everyone!

Year 2 have had a lovely week learning about place value in Maths, writing poems about the colour monster using similes in Literacy and learning about what is inside a seed in Science.

This week in Literacy we are continuing with the story ‘The Colour Monster’. We will planning and writing our own stories about the colour monster throughout the week. In maths we are working on partitioning numbers to 100. We will be using practical resources to help us do this. The key vocabulary that we will be using is tens, units, hundreds, smallest, biggest, numeral, total, multiple, more than, less than, partition, equal.

We will focusing on a life cycle of a plant in Science and filling in our class plant diary as out plants are starting to grow!

Please make sure children have their reading books in their book bags each day so that we can hear them read their books at any point during the week.

Miss Stone’s class will be swimming on Tuesday and Mrs Skidmore and Mrs Hogan’s Forest Camp groups will go on Thursday.
