Hello and here we are already in the last week of term!
Thank you so much for all your amazing contributions and to all those that helped at the bake sale. We made over £200! Half of the money will go to the RSPCA – this charity was chosen by the year 2 children. The other half will go towards the year 2 classrooms and any extras we need for baking and other activities.
The year 2s have made great progress this term – it really is amazing to see how well they learn and grow up throughout the year. They deserve a good rest this half term.
This week we will be doing the following:
Literacy – the children are creating their own aliens and coming up with lots of ideas to describe them including it’s appearance, habitat, behaviours and diet. They will then write a non-chronological reports about their aliens.
Maths – focusing on division using the grouping method – here is a video if you want to practice at home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM23wFvlX00
History – what to expect at a medieval banquet
Art – Valentine’s Day crafts
Science – learning about endangered animals
Internet Safety Day (11th)
In computing we will be making poems and raps about how to be safe on the internet.
Swimming
Mrs Skidmore and Miss Keski’s class
Optional Weekly Challenge
Choose a monarch you have learnt about in history this term and make a portrait of them using an art medium of your choice. You could try paint, pastels, or even collaging with whatever you have at home!
Thank you,
The Year 2 Team
