Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Week commencing 14th October

Hello!

We hope you are all doing well. We would like to send a gentle reminder to keep toys and teddies at home. This is to avoid any jealousy/issues amongst the children and to make sure precious items don’t get lost or broken.

This week the children will be doing the following:

In literacy we will be learning about expanded noun phrases and revisiting similes. We will then include these in our poems about the different coloured crayons fr0m the book ‘the day the crayons quit’

In maths we will be looking at number bonds to 100 and number fact families. If you would like to practice finding number fact families with your child, follow the linkĀ https://www.topmarks.co.uk/number-facts/number-fact-families

In computing we will be learning the process of saving and opening documents and adding a picture

In science we will be going outside to observe plants and draw them

In PSHE we are learning about friendships

Swimming

This week Mrs Skidmore and Miss Keski’s class will be swimming

School Photos

On Tuesday (15th) the children will have their individual school photos taken. Please make sure children are in their regular school uniform and a school jumper or cardigan

Have a great week,

The Year 2 Team
