Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Term 1, Week 2

Hi everyone,

Year 3 have had a fun first full week back at school. They have been writing setting descriptions about Mrs Cole’s house from the book I’ll Take You to Mrs Cole, illustrated by Michael Foreman. In maths, they have been continuing their work on place value, putting numbers on a number line, and partitioning numbers. In geography, we started to explore where in the world rainforests are. In RE, we discussed what makes us human and the things that are special to us.

Next week, we will look at another book illustrated by Michael Foreman. We will be creating story maps and learning how to write speech. In maths, our work on place value continues. In PE, we are perfecting our jumps – last week we practised pike jumps, straddle jumps, and cat leaps! In art, we will be sketching and working on shading.
