Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 3 update. We’ve made it! This has been an extraordinarily long term, and we wanted to say much we admire your children’s stamina! A week off is definitely well deserved.
This week, your children have been up to the following:
- In literacy, we have been writing up our rainforest-themed non-fiction reports.
- In maths, we have been working on our exchanges. Watch this Maths Made Clear film on addition for more.
- In our last geography lesson on the rainforest, we learned about the effects of deforestation.
- In computing, we continued to work on our Scratch animations. It’s been wonderful to see that some children have been working on Scratch at home! This is a completely free resource that is brilliant for learning early coding. Go here to find out more.
Homework over the holidays
Over the holidays, Spelling Shed and Times Times Rockstars homework is not set (although TTRS is still available if you want to keep things ticking over). This means that there will be no online homework over the next two weeks. The only thing we ask is that you continue to read with your children and log them in planners. The expectation is that on the first Thursday back after half term, there will be two weeks’ worth of reading to check.
PE and swimming
PE will continue to be on Mondays after half term, so please dress your children in PE kit on the first day back. On Tuesday, Miss Lunnon’s class will go swimming and Mr. Burrows’s class will have PE again.
We hope you have a safe and restful half term holiday, and we look forward to seeing your children bright and early on the morning of Monday 4th November.
