Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Term 1 Week 6 update

Hello, and welcome to this week’s Year 3 update. The weather is predictably starting to turn, so please make sure your children come with enough clothing to stay dry and warm.

This week, we have been up to the following:

  • In literacy, we have been preparing to write a report all about the rainforest.
  • In maths, we are working on addition and subtraction.
  • In topic, we talked about the causes and the effects of deforestation.
  • In science, we finished our investigation of what plants need to grow.
  • In art, we spent an afternoon in the field drawing botanical studies of the plants, leaves and seeds we found.
  • In PSHE, we thought about the people in our lives who we can trust.

Stars of the Week

This week, our Stars are Vitya P and Jack D.

Swimming and PE

This week, it is Mr. Burrows’s class’s turn to go swimming. Miss Green’s class should come to school in PE kit. Also, please remember that it is PE for everyone on Mondays.

Forest Camp

We’re really sorry that Monday’s Forest Camp was, again, cancelled. This was due to staff absence. It will be rearranged for a Monday soon – we will let you know as soon as we know. Apologies again.

Scratch

Your children may have told you that they are using a program called Scratch in computing lessons this term. It is a wonderful resource, which allows you to create their own animations and games. The best thing is that this program is free for everyone to use! Go to https://scratch.mit.edu/ and click on Create. Enjoy!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend, and we will see your children bright and early on Monday morning!
