Hello everyone,
Last week, Year 3 enjoyed reading a mystery story about missing jewels from a museum. The children loved searching for clues in the story to work out who the culprit was. In Topic, we also enjoyed learning about how people in the Stone Age would have survived.
This week, we are reading another mystery story, Mr Penguin and the Lost Treasure by Alex T. Smith. The children will be writing their own museum artefact labels and, at the end of the week, they will create their own museum guide.
In Art, we are making our own paper hats. The children will also create their own version of papyrus paper, applying traditional techniques to produce a new material.
A few gentle reminders
- If you have any spare cardboard tubes at home, we would be very grateful if you could send them in for Art in Week 3.
- Spelling homework has now been set – thank you for your patience while we sorted out the earlier mix-up with the dates.
- World Book Day is on Thursday and children are welcome to come to school in their pyjamas – we’re looking forward to a cosy, book-filled day!
- Forest Camp for Miss Green’s Group 2 will take place on Friday afternoon.
Trip to Hill End
- Miss Stone’s class – Wednesday 11th March
- Miss Green’s class – Thursday 12th March
If you have any questions about the trip, please do speak to your child’s class teacher. The coach journey should be no longer than one hour. Please let us know if your child experiences travel sickness or has any difficulties with travelling. We would also appreciate it if you could make sure your child’s medical information is up to date on MCAS.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
