Hello, and welcome to the final Year 3 update of Term 5! Where did the time go?! We would happily describe this term as ‘short but sweet’.
This week, your children have been up to the following:
- In literacy, we prepared and delivered talks to each other about Ancient Egypt. Next term, we will be writing newspaper reports about the Dick King Smith classic, The Hodgeheg.
- In maths, it was THE END OF TIME (we finished our time unit).
- In geography, we learned about why different places in the world have a different time to us. Next term, we will be learning about the development of the railway.
- In RE, we learned about why water is important to Christians by thinking about baptism.
- In computing, we finished our posters advertising Hill End. We hope you enjoyed looking at the copies they brought home.
PE and swimming
There will be PE on the first day back after half term, so please make sure your children come to school ready for it. It will be Miss Lunnon’s class’s turn to go swimming on Tuesday, so please remember to bring kit. Mr Burrows’ class should come to school in PE kit on that day.
The Hodgeheg
As mentioned above, we will be reading The Hodgeheg next time in our literacy lessons. We would be hugely grateful if you could provide your child with a copy. It is currently just over £6 on Amazon (although other bookshops are available!).
We hope you have a wonderful half term break, and we will see your children bright and early on Monday 2nd June.
