Hello, and welcome to the first weekly update of Term 5. We trust that everyone had a fun and relaxing Easter break. As it’s a relatively short term, we’ve done our best to hit the ground running this week. Your children may be a bit tired tonight!
This week, we have been up to the following:
- In literacy, we have started reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We’ll continue that next week, building towards writing a diary entry as Charlie Bucket the night before visiting Willy Wonka’s factory.
- In maths, we’ve either been finishing off fractions or starting to learn how to tell the time.
- In topic, we started our new geography topic of All Around The World. This week, we discussed the northern and southern hemispheres.
- In RE, we discussed the importance of water to all life, and therefore to different religions.
- In computing, we have started our new project of making information posters in Microsoft Word.
PE and swimming
As well as everyone having PE on Monday, this Tuesday it will be Miss Lunnon’s class’s turn to go swimming. Mr Burrows’ class should come to school in PE kit on Tuesday.
We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we will see your children bright and early on Monday morning.
