Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 3 update. And what a week it’s been! We were lucky enough to be blessed with two wonderfully warm and sunny days on which to go to Hill End Adventure Centre for our Stone-Age-themed school trip. It was a brilliant experience for everyone, and your children behaved impeccably. You should be very proud! Keep an eye on our social media pages for some photos of the day.
Other than the trip, your children have been up to the following this week:
- In literacy, we have been finishing off our mystery stories and starting our new topic of science fiction writing.
- In maths, we’re working on fractions.
- In history, we learned about how life changed for people in the Bronze Age. Next week, we’ll be moving into the Iron Age!
- In RE, we learned about how some Jews and Muslims ask for forgiveness from God and Allah.
- In art, we made our very own ‘cave walls’ in our sketchbooks, using grains, rice and PVA glue! Next week, we will try to paint on them.
- Next week, it will be STEM week, where we will be looking famous accidental inventions. In fact, we will be making one – silly putty.
(No) swimming and PE
A quick reminder that there continues to be no swimming on Tuesdays. Please can children come to school in PE kit on both Monday and Tuesday.
We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we will see your children on Monday morning.
