Term 4 Week 2 update

Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 3 update. Whisper it, but spring might have finally sprung! School can feel like a much more welcoming place when it is bright outside and a bit warmer. Fingers crossed this fine weather continues!

This week, your children have been up to the following:

  • In literacy, we have started to write our own mystery story: The Case Of The Missing Rhubarb! We’ll be aiming to finish that off next week.
  • In maths, we are coming to the end of multiplication and division. Next stop (potentially next week) – fractions!
  • In history, we learned about how technology progressed across the Stone Age. Next week, we’ll be asking the question, ‘How do we know what life was like in the Stone Age?’.
  • We had World Book Day on Thursday! It was a really great day, enjoyed by children and grown-ups alike. There are some photos on our social media pages if you interested in finding out more.
  • In computing, we talks about scams. How do you know when something might be a scam? What do you do about it?

PE and (not) swimming

Please remember that there is no swimming this term for Year 3. Your children should come to school in PE kit on both Monday and Tuesday.

Hill End

We will be going on our school trip in a couple of weeks! Mr. Burrows’ class will be going to Hill End Adventure Centre on Wednesday 19th and Miss Lunnon’s class will go on Thursday 20th. It is Stone-Age themed, and we will be spending the whole day outside. This means that warm, waterproof clothes and footwear suitable for the weather is absolutely vital. Your child will also need a packed lunch & water. If you require a Kites Kitchen packed lunch to be provided for your child, please complete this form.

Forest Camp

One more week of Forest Camp Friday for Year 3!

On the day of your child’s Forest Camp session:

  • They may come to school in their Forest Camp clothes: any long-sleeved top and trousers that you don’t mind getting dirty!
  • They need to wear their school shoes or clean trainers in the morning as they will be in the classroom as normal.
  • They need to bring wellies and waterproofs (in a separate bag) to wear in the afternoon.

Friday 14th Mar

Toby J, Flavia M, Ellie P, Sam P, Mhairi R, Daniel R, Miles R, Ocean S, Toby T, William V, Theo W, Fenix W-B

We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we will see your children bright and early on Monday morning.
