Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Term 3 Week 2 update

Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 3 update. It’s been an excellent few days, but the obvious highlight was Ancient Egypt day on Thursday. First of all, thank you for organising the beautiful costumes! It makes such a difference to the day when everyone looks the part. We must also say that your children were impeccably behaved – focused, attentive and respectful. The lady running the day was very impressed with them. Keep an eye on our social media for some photos of the day!

As well as that, this week your children have been up to the following:

  • In literacy, we have continued to work on playscripts. Next week, we will be looking to write our own.
  • In maths, we are deep in understanding what multiplication and division is. For our video on how division is taught at SCPS, have a look here.
  • In history, we learned about some of the things ordinary people did in Ancient Egyptian times. Next week, we’ll be learning about mummification.
  • In computing, we continued planning our online surveys by thinking about question design. Next week, we’ll start constructing them.
  • In French, we learned about the months of the year.

PE and swimming

This week, it will be the turn of Mr. Burrows’ class to go swimming. Miss Lunnon’s class should come to school in PE kit. Also, please remember that the children will be going onto the field for Monday PE sessions, and so it would be very helpful for them to bring in a spare pair of shoes to change into.

We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we will see your children again on Monday morning.
