Term 2 Week 1 update

Hello, and welcome back to Term 2! We hope your children had a restful break (although, to us, it already feels like a bit of distant memory!), and have come back raring to go for another few weeks of hard work.

This week, your children have been up to the following:

  • In literacy, we have been creating persuasive adverts to recruit a team of diving giraffes! Next week, we’ll be doing some fairytale-based drama.
  • In maths, we have continued to work on addition and subtraction.
  • In geography, we started our new topic of the UK by learning about its countries and some of the major cities. Next week, we’ll be looking at rivers and seas.
  • In RE, we thought about our big question for the term: ‘Where do our morals come from?’. This week: How do we know what’s right and what’s wrong?
  • In DT, we started our new project – sewing Christmas stockings!

PE and swimming

As well as PE for everyone on Monday, this Tuesday it will be the turn of Mr. Burrows’s class to go swimming. Miss Lunnon’s class should come to school in PE kit. You should all have received an email from the office with the swimming/PE rota for the term. Please get in touch if you haven’t received it.

We hope you have a lovely weekend, and look forward to seeing your children bright and early on Monday morning.
