Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 3 update. With the weather as changeable as ever and with it getting increasingly chilly, please make sure that your children are coming to school with coats. It might also be worth bringing in spare footwear on Mondays, in case the children do outdoor PE in the rain.
This week, your children have been up to the following:
- In literacy, we have been finding facts about rainforest animals. Next week, we will be thinking about how to turn these facts into beautiful rainforest-themed reports.
- In maths, we’re all working on making exchanges! Have a look at our Maths Made Clear video on subtraction for more on this.
- In topic, we compared the Amazon rainforest (5.5 million square kilometres) and Sherwood Forest (4 square kilometres). There were other differences, too. Ask your children!
- In RE, our ‘What makes us human?’ topic culminated in the children designing the cover of their own non-fiction book about the soul and consciousness.
- In computing, we used Scratch to continue making our animations.
PE and swimming
As well as everyone having outdoor PE on Monday, it will be Miss Lunnon’s class’s turn to go swimming this Tuesday. Mr. Burrows’s class should come to school that afternoon in PE kit.
We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we will see your children again on Monday morning.
