Week 2, Term 3 Update
We were incredibly proud of our Glee Club members this week, who represented the school at the Young Voices event on Monday. The children sang brilliantly and were fantastic ambassadors for our school, showing confidence, commitment and enthusiasm throughout the day. Well done to everyone involved!
Curriculum Overview – This Week and Next
In literacy, we are continuing our work on writing horror stories inspired by historic and gothic literature. The children have been developing atmosphere, suspense and descriptive language. Later this term, we will move on to writing biographies.
In maths, we continue to cover key areas of the curriculum in preparation for SATs. Alongside consolidation of prior learning, we are beginning to introduce some new concepts, including ratio and algebra.
In science, our focus this term is the human body. Over the coming weeks, pupils will be learning about the circulatory system and will be carrying out an experiment to investigate heart rate and the effect exercise has on the body.
In computing, we are learning about online safety, in preparation for Safer Internet Day next month. This work will help pupils understand how to stay safe online and think critically about digital content.
In history, as part of our two-term study of World War II, we have been learning about the end of World War I and exploring how the Treaty of Versailles may have contributed to the outbreak of World War II.
