Year 6 Weekly Update

Another brilliant week of learning has flown by in Year 6, with pupils showing fantastic focus and creativity across the curriculum since coming back from the Christmas holidays.

Literacy
The children have begun transforming familiar stories into the horror genre, exploring how language, atmosphere and suspense can be used to grip the reader. There have already been some wonderfully spooky ideas!

History
We have launched our exciting double-term topic on World War Two. Pupils have started to build a strong understanding of this significant period in history and are asking thoughtful, mature questions as their learning begins.

Looking Ahead to Next Week

Next week promises to be just as engaging, with learning including:

Computing – Understanding how to stay safe online
Science – Exploring how the heart works and its role in the body
Literacy – Writing our own horror stories, using the techniques we’ve been practising
