- Literacy – This week, the children have been working on reading comprehension skills in pairs and small groups. Next week, we will focus on speech punctuation and begin reading the source material for the first of two assessed writing pieces this term.
- Maths – This week, Mr. Foley’s maths group has been working on multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, and 1000. Mr. Witcomb’s group completed a focus on units of measure and has moved on to learning about ratio. Wednesday afternoon maths sessions started for both groups this week and will continue for the remainder of the term.
- Science – Having missed science on Monday, Year 6 will begin a new topic, Evolution and Inheritance, next week.
- Computing – Year 6 started this term’s topic on networks by discussing what the internet is and received a tour of the server room, with the kind support of Mrs. Rae.
