Literacy – This week, the children have been working on writing a balanced argument about pet ownership. Next week, we will have a visit from the Young Shakespeare Company on Monday and celebrate World Book Day on Thursday. In between, we will work on some SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) skills.
Maths – This week, Mr Foley’s maths group has been working on shape and will continue with this theme next week. Mr Witcomb’s class has been working on decimals, fractions and percentages and will also continue this into next week. Wednesday afternoon maths sessions have been a positive addition to the timetable and will continue this term.
Science – Year 6 began a new topic, electricity, this week. Next week, the children will learn about circuits and symbols.
PE – A reminder that swimming began this week for those in Mr Foley’s class. The sessions focus on water safety, so children will need their normal swimming kit plus a separate top and bottom layer (pyjamas or similar work well).
