Thank you all so much for your support with the Cake Sale, from helping out with selling, to providing delicious cakes to buy!
Next week (after a lovely long weekend) we will be continuing our practice for the phonics screening check – the children working hard and have made great progress already.
Here are two more word challenge videos from this week:
We will also be continuing to base our writing around Jack and the Beanstalk, this time by learning about adjectives and using them to describe the beanstalk. They will also be observing the growth of their own beanstalks!
In maths we are continuing to learn about simple multiplication by making arrays and beginning to understand rows and columns. In geography we are beginning to learn about the countries that make up the U.K. and here is a game to support this: The UK and Ireland
In computing we will be practising using a keyboard in preparation for making and writing cards next term and in PHSCE we are talking about money and how we can look after it. On Thursday 8th we are having a visit from the illustrator Korky Paul and also having a bit of a party in the afternoon to celebrate VE Day, which the children will be hearing about during assemblies next week. Miss Bartlett’s class will be swimming next week.
Have a lovely weekend,
The Year 1 Team
