This week we are going to be taking a closer look at autumn and the kinds of things that we see going on around us at this time of year: changes in the weather, daylight, for us and what we wear outside, and for the plants and animals who live alongside us. We will making the most of the opportunity for some fun art and craft activities , some inspired by the story ‘Leaf Man’ and also writing about the changes that we see in autumn.
In maths we will be moving on to addition and subtraction and to begin with we are learning about the part-whole model and fact families. If you are interested in knowing more, here is a video that gives a bit more detail (starring Mr Burrows and Miss Snowden!) Teaching addition
Here is also a ‘Save the Whale’ game to practise number bonds Save the whale.
In PHSE we will be thinking about understanding our feelings through the story ‘Where are you, Blue Kangaroo?’ And in computing we will continue to work on our mouse control using Paint. This week the Fire and Water teams are at Forest Camp on Monday, so Air and Earth will need their PE kit. Swimming is on Thursday for those who didn’t swim last week.
