A very busy week ahead! This week we will be making Christingles for our assembly on Wednesday, as well as a lot of singing and dancing practise for the KS1 Nativity. Year 1 play a relatively small part in the play – we may well come in, do our song and dance and leave, as the hall gets really packed once all the parents have arrived. Rest assured that in Year 2 your child will have more opportunities for a starring role!
Thank you to those of you who have already filled in our toys questionnaire and keep sending them in – it’s a really interesting talking point for the children.
This will the children will be writing letters to Santa (we can send home photocopies if that is helpful – let us know) and we will be continuing to work on subtraction in maths. In science we are working on recognising the common materials that things are made of (wood, metal, plastic, glass, rubber, fabric etc) and any chance to practise those skills at home is really helpful.
This week the Fire and Water teams are going to Forest Camp, PE is on Wednesday and Miss Bartlett’s class are swimming on Thursday. Tights are a particular challenge to get back on after swimming, so it might be an idea to send your child in socks on swimming days (if it is a very cold day, they could wear leggings or trousers instead of a skirt).
