This week begins with our ‘Toys Day’ workshop on Monday. Thank you so much to the parents who have agreed to help out! As the workshop takes all day there will be no Forest Camp session for Miss Bartlett’s class this week.
We will also be sending home a questionnaire for parents and grandparents about the kinds of toys that you played with as children. This is a great opportunity to share your ( and your parents’) experiences of toys in the past and to talk about how toys have changed. Perhaps you have one or two old toys or games that you can show them? We will put a copy of the questionnaire on the documents page as well, in case anyone needs an extra copy.
Maths continues on our theme of addition and subtraction, moving on to more subtraction and fact families. In computing, we will be learning about what an algorithm is and beginning to find ways to record simple instructions for the Beebots. In science we will be naming common materials such as wood, metal and plastic and sorting them.
We have now got to the part of the year where Christmas begins to take over everything (!), so there will also be lots of singing practise for both Christingle and our Nativity play, Nativity dance preparation and making cards and decorations.
PE will be on Wednesday afternoon and Miss Snowden’s class, as well a small group of non-swimmers, will be swimming this week.
