Thank you so much for all the lovely baby pics, what a cute bunch they all were!
This week we will be starting our longer phonics sessions and most children will be bringing home Read, Write Inc. reading books on Wednesday. If your child is not yet at the stage where a reading book is appropriate, then we will shortly send home some practice materials – sound cards and simple word cards – for them to use at home.
Maths will be working on counting back, 1 less and comparing groups using language such as fewer, more and same. In science this week we will be using our sense of taste to distinguish between different flavours and we will also be planning to make a fruit kebab for a friend to enjoy. In computing on Thursday we will be continuing to practice logging on and also using Paint to draw simple pictures and patterns. We will also be finishing off our plasticine portraits – we can add them to our news page next week so you can have a look!
The Air and Earth teams will be at Forest Camp this week.
Thank you,
The Year 1 Team
