Hello and welcome to another weekly Year 5 update. Just two more of these to go until the summer holidays!
This week, your children have been up to the following:
- In literacy, we’ve managed to finish our Roald Dahl biographies. Next week, we will spend some time looking at a brilliant picture book, called How To Live Forever.
- In maths, we’ve either been learning about decimals or volume.
- In geography, we studied some of the symbols that are found on Ordnance Survey maps.
- In art, we created backgrounds for our poetry-based self portraits.
- In science, we learned about becoming senior – the final stage of the human life cycle.
Sports Day
Thank you so much for your support at this year’s Sports Day. It’s a brilliant morning, made even more special by your attendance.
End of year reports
You should receive an envelope with your child’s end-of-year report after school. For the first time, we will also be emailing the reports to you via MCAS later this evening. Two important points from this:
- If you have any queries or issues, please do come and speak to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible.
- In the envelope, there is also a sheet that gives you the opportunity to offer feedback about the year. This is completely optional, but we would love to hear from you. Equally, if you wanted to email feedback over rather than write it by hand, we would really appreciate your words.
PE
PE will be on Monday and Friday this week, and they will both be outdoors, so please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the (hopefully) clement conditions.
We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we will see your children bright and early on Monday morning.
