Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Ancient Greek day

On Wednesday, we were transported to the glorious city of Athens…in the year 560BC! (Any visual similarities to the school hall are purely coincidental.)
The children had a brilliant time in the morning taking part in Ancient Greek craft activities. They made pottery and pendants, painted tiles, created oil lamps out of clay and much more! In the afternoon, they all had a sumptuous feast (served by slaves) whilst enjoying Ancient Greek entertainment (such as dance, poetry and theatre).
Thank you to those of you who volunteered for the day and made it possible for all the children to have such a brilliant time!
