On Friday our ‘A’ teams from both Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 travelled to Tilsley Park in Abingdon to compete in the Oxfordshire County Final of the annual Quad Kids competition. After several weather-related postponements prevented the South Oxfordshire Final from going ahead, the children were keen to return to their outdoor athletics season and test themselves on a proper Olympic-style running track.

The final results were:

Our Year 3/4 team finished 7th out of ten teams – a good performance in what was the first ever County Final for these children, and even more impressive when they didn’t have the experience of the South Oxfordshire Final to fall back on.

Our Year 5/6 team came 1st, and are the Quad Kids Oxfordshire County Champions! Superb performances from each member of the team saw us win the competition by 85 points, which is a testament to their efforts not only during this school year but also to their commitment throughout their time in KS2.
