Dear Parents,
The charity Just One Tree aims to raise awareness of the important role trees play in reducing CO2 in our atmosphere. They also filter our water, stabilise the soil and form complex ecosystems.
To celebrate Just One Tree Day Kites talked about the special oak tree we have at school and looked at the life cycle of a tree. Some of the acorns that fell from the tree have started to sprout around this base. To stop them getting trampled on we have dug some up and planted them in pots. The children have been asked to take care of a seedling at home, with the challenge of growing it into a sapling (3 feet). It can them be planted in the ground. If you do not have a suitable location, please return to school.
Happy growing.
