Year 2 have had a great first week of their final term, enjoying a workshop from Science Oxford. Here is what we are covering next week:

In Maths, we will begin our final topic: ‘Geometry – Movement and Direction’.

In Literacy, we will write a recount of our school trip.

In Geography, we will look at the differences between Seasides in the present and in the past.

In Science, we will learn the lifecycle of a human.

In Art, we will be creating art inspired by different artists.

Please wear PE kit on Mondays and Wednesdays. 

Hedgehogs gave forest camp on MONDAY this week.

On Tuesday, we have our school trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park. This email was sent out earlier today:

Dear Parents of Year 2, 

Please read the following information about the trip.

Timing:

We are really looking forward to our school trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park on Tuesday 9th of June. Just a reminder to be at school by 8:315am as the coaches are leaving promptly. We will return to school at 5pm, please pick up your child from their classroom as usual.  

If your child struggles with travel sickness, please take the necessary precautions (anti-sickness, bands etc.). We will provide food on arrival if they would prefer to not eat before the drive. Please let me know and we can sit them at the front of the coach. 

Clothing:

As there is a possibility of rain, please ensure your child has a waterproof jacket with a hood. Children need to wear their school PE kit with comfortable trainers, as we will be doing a lot of walking.  If sun is forecast, it is a good idea for your child to bring a hat.

Please make sure your child brings a small backpack which they are happy to carry around all day. This will contain their personal belongings, including a water bottle.

Food:

Kites Kitchen are providing a packed lunch for every child. A fruit snack will be provided. Your child can bring up to 2 other small healthy snacks if they wish. Please make sure your child has a water bottle as drink will not be provided.

Money:

We have decided that we will not be visiting the gift shop, so please do not send your child in with any money, thank you.

The optional weekend challenge is to design a new ice cream to be sold at the beach. Think about a reasonable price to charge. Present in school for 3 team points!
