Key Stage 1

 

Introduction

The staff and governors of Sonning Common County Primary School value highly the contact between home and school, understanding that the process of educating your child involves the child, the parents and the school. Between us we will give your child the chance to develop his or her talents in a school that encourages tolerance, independence, good behaviour and a positive attitude to learning.

We regard every child as a highly valued individual. Our goal is to provide an excellent education for all children in the school. We believe children achieve more when school and parents work together. We all have our part to play in this.

 

The parents

 

I/We will
·      ensure that my child attends school punctually and regularly throughout the year

·      send a note to the school when my child is absent

·      inform the school if my child is to be collected during school hours or if my child is to be collected by another adult

·      give the school an emergency contact telephone number

·      support the school code of discipline and behaviour

·      support the school policy on Internet access

·      inform the school about anything that might affect my child's work or behaviour

 

I/We will try to  

·      support my child in homework and other opportunities for home learning

·      attend parents evenings and parent-teacher consultations and get to know about my child's life at school.

·      contact you or your emergency contact during the day if your child is ill or injured

·      maintain the school code of behaviour and ensure that pupils are aware of its content

·      mark and discuss with pupils any homework that has been set

·      inform you of any academic or social problems at school and send home a written report annually

·      hold parent evenings, parent-teacher consultations and be available for other meetings by appointment

·      provide the best balanced education for your child within available resources

·      provide a caring environment for your child.
