POLICY STATEMENT ON HOMEWORK
Foundation Stage and Keystage One
Children are given opportunities to take books home. They may occasionally be asked informally to “find out about something at home”. Children in Year Two are given word lists to support their learning in class.
Children may be given activities to do at home on an individual basis if appropriate.
Keystage Two
Spellings will be sent home and tested at school.
Reading journals – to involve parents with shared reading, questions and pieces of written work linked to the book - to be seen by the class teacher each week.
Times tables
Plan, prepare and give talks on a variety of topics.
For Years Three, Four and Five - A practical activity to involve parents to make a model/picture.
For Year Six – Projects will be given at Year Six every term and children will receive feedback on these.
