Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

This Term…

This term has flown by, it feels like only yesterday that we were back in school after New Year, which is testament to the hard work being put in across year 3!

Mr Andrews and I have been really happy with the general improved motivation and wanting to do well in their learning this term. There have been some interesting non-chronological reports, nonsense poems and some amazing team work across the year in both PE and Maths.

Ancient Egyptian day was an amazing success and it was great to see them all getting stuck into every activity they could. From bread making to making olive oil and making canopic jars, I could see faces of concentration and smiles on every face. This week, being the last week of term 3 sees the end of our Ancient Egyptian Topic finishing off being journalists about the discovery of Tutankhamun.

The first week back after half term is animals theme week. For this week we will be sharing activities across year 3 and 4. This will allow the children to choose their activities which we will discuss in class later this week.

Just a little reminder that PE is on a Tuesday and a Friday afternoon, full kit including trainers are needed on both days. Also swimming is on a Thursday afternoon on alternating weeks.

Keep being your fantastic supportive selves and if we don’t see you this week have a lovely half term!
