Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Week Beginning 4th December

Thank you so much to those of you who came along to help at the pantomime last Thursday. The children behaved really well amidst all the excitement and it was noisy but fun!

This week there will be no phonics groups as we are assessing the childrens’ progress: instead we will be practising our skills and using them to write Christmas cards and letters to Santa. Maths this week will also be revision of important concepts such as place value (how many tens and ones in a two-digit number), number recognition and adding by counting on.

There will also be a lot of practise of our Nativity songs and our dance – the sheep masks and tails are nearly done! Don’t forget that the childrens costumes (white top with leggings/trousers/shorts) need to be on their peg in a named bag by Thursday 7th so that we are ready for our dress rehearsal on Monday 11th.

We are looking forward to talking with you during our Parent Consultation meetings on Thursday/Friday – if you don’t yet have an appointment, just let us know and we’ll give you a time
