We have an exciting week ahead of us!
This week we will still be continuing our work on toys. We would really appreciate it if the children could bring in examples of toys from their grandparents, parents and their own toys (we will take care of them!) for sorting and drawing. We will be talking to the children about the materials that the toys are made of and similarities and differences between them.
In maths this week, we will be covering Geometry and Measurements. We will be learning about directions and positions of objects using common words (including half turns); comparing lengths and heights; estimating using uniform non-standard and standard units.
Just a few gentle reminders:
Now that the weather is getting chillier it is especially important to send in some warm clothes for Forest Camp sessions: Miss Bartlett’s class have their sessions on Mondays and Mrs Hoogenberg’s class have their sessions on Wednesdays.
Please could the children bring their plastic wallets with their Read,Write Inc books in every day so that they can take them along to each lesson – the children can earn team points for remembering to bring them in!
Finally, please could you also ensure that your child reads to you at least three or four times a week. Your child will be able to change their reading books every Tuesday and Thursday. However, it is important that your child’s reading book is kept in their bookbags and is sent into school every day.General
