Sonning Common Primary School has an on-site swimming pool and our Sonning Common Swim School offers lessons to all children (regardless of whether they attend the school or not).

The pool is 10m x 5m and is 1m deep, and is warm and ideal for learning to swim. The changing rooms are newly refurbished and offer communual and private changing areas and showers/toilet facilities.

The SC Swim School offer friendly and fun swimming lessons, to produce confident swimmers with good skills and a real love of swimming; the start of a journey to your child being a happy and confident swimmer.

The SC Swim School teachers are experienced, trained to ASA Level 2 and are patient friendly and caring.  All classes after school have in-water helpers too.

Reminder of the main Swim School Rules

Strictly NO PARKING on school premises before 3:45pm as access is required for Bishopswood School parents and transport. Please do not try to enter the school car park as this causes traffic jams, please park elsewhere (on the road). Parents parking in the school car park, or in the disabled bays near the pool will be asked to move their car (unless they have a blue badge entitling disabled parking).

• Parents should remain within sight of the pool building for the duration of the lesson (with the exception of children brought over from after school club)
• All children older than 2.5 years must wear a swim hat (no exceptions).
• No food and drink allowed on the premises (including changing/waiting areas)
• All shoes (including those of parents) to be removed before entering the changing room (or use overshoes)
• No buggies in the changing rooms at any time.
• No cameras, including mobile phones with cameras, within the building.
