Music

Welcome to Music

Music is a universal language.  By engaging children in our music education, we aim to inspire pupils to develop a love of music, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of success as musicians.  As a school, we follow a leading scheme of work to ensure the National Curriculum for Music is completed.  Children develop the skills to listen and appraise, compose and perform.

As well as this, we offer a range of additional activities which bring music to life for the children in our school community. These include:

  • Weekly peripatetic lessons for children wishing to learn an instrument, including recorders, piano, flute, clarinet, cornet and guitar
  • Year 6 Jazz Club
  • Choir club
  • Participation in the National ‘Young Voices’ concert (in Birmingham)
  • Annual carol concert
  • Performances at school fairs (Christmas and summer)
